Brake Systems

We provide complete static and dynamic testing of the brake system according to the relevant UIC guidelines, the swiss AB-EBV, as well on the document, which was jointly generated by the German railway authority (EBA) and the Deutsche Bahn AG and the railway industry.
Beside the standard UIC requirements, we are also used in testing vehicles with vacuum brake systems as well as rack railways with all their different kind of brake systems and the special requirements to rack railways.

Recording the temperature behaviour of the components of the brake system during field tests, measuring static brake block or brake pad forces, checking the function of the wheel slide protection systems as well as the observation of blending processes and checking the failure behaviour are common activities.
For development projects of brake friction systems (e. g. to reduce the rolling noise) we can also support you with all the required long term monitoring services as monitoring of wheel and block wear, the surface monitoring with roughness, the crack propagation, the wheel stress, the monitoring of the long term behaviour of the friction coefficient, etc. ...
PROSE is certified as test institute for measurements on the brake system by the German railway authority (EBA).
