Montreux Berner Oberland Bahn AG (MOB) commissions PROSE for the development of gauge-changing facility in Zweisimmen
A train connection without changing trains is planned on the GoldenPass line between Montreux and Interlaken-East. For this purpose, gauge-changing vehicles are to run on the metre gauge line of the MOB and on the standard gauge line of the BLS. At the
interface between the two networks in Zweisimmen, the vehicles are to be re-gauged by means of a gaugechanging facility.
Montreux Berner Oberland Bahn AG (MOB) commissioned PROSE for the development of this gauge-changing facility. PROSE’s tasks included the mechanical and control engineering development of the plant, the design with preparation of manufacturing documents and supplier specifications, the strength calculation, the development of the software including tests and RAMS analysis for the ramp control, the supply of a control cabinet, tests of the complete assembly with the signal box and the hydraulic system as well as the support in supplier
management and approval issues.

Consulting support for wheelset torsional vibrations
Due to the development of power electronics over the past decades, propulsion systems in rail vehicle technology are becoming more and more powerful and efficient. This results in an increased utilization of the friction coefficient between wheel and rail, thereby achieving greater tractive power and traction capacity.
